System Requirements

What you will need

  • A high-speed Internet connection such as DSL, Cable or ISDN is recommended but not required.
  • Recommended browsers: MS Internet Explorer (5.5 or better) or Netscape (7.0 or higher).
  • An AOL, dial-up or wireless connection is not recommended or supported.

Resources

  • If you do not have these systems at home or work, you may consider the public library or businesses that provide Internet access such as an Internet Cafe.

State Continuing Education
It is important to advise us in advance of all states for which you expect to use your certificate. The states listed are those that require continuing education and where we have courses approved.

For a detailed review of state requirements (those that require Pre-License or Continuing Education), please see States at a Glance at the top of our Home Page. At this time, we have courses approved for WA, KS, TX, IL, IN, OH, KY, WV, MD, SC, and FL. We expect approvals for CA, NC, PA, and MA by March of ’03.

This enables us to provide timely information to the many state regulators who require reports listing all registered and/or certified students. It also enables us to confirm that the course ordered is an approved course for the specific states listed.

For the same reasons, we need to be advised if the course will be used for Realtor clock hours, since a different procedure must be followed.

To date, four states are proctor states: OH, WV, KS and SC. If you need the certificate for one of these states, please go to Policies and select the third bullet for a detailed discussion of the procedure and the form required. It is also posted on the Quizzes section. The certificate is issued upon receipt of the proctor form and indicates a Proctored exam on the certificate.

E-mail Address
We use e-mail extensively during the course process, such as when a student submits quiz information, responding to questions about course content, requests for missing items and confirmation of the address for mailing of certificates. We do not, nor do we intend to, sell any of our customer lists. We do send out notices about new courses, and reminders for those who need continuing education, and you have an opportunity to opt in or out of this system. Please be sure you enter a correct e-mail address and one that you check regularly.

Drivers License
Many states use the drivers license number as the student tracking number, so we need this piece of information. It is required from us for our reporting requirements. We are not in a position to monitor the accuracy of your license number. It will be reported exactly as entered in the registration system.

Payment Options
We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express as well as personal or corporate checks. You may either enter the credit card detail on our secure server or fax it in to 1-888-726-9409 (866-765-8724).
Please note that we do not ship prior to receipt of check if that is the chosen method of payment. We strongly encourage the use of U.S. Postal Priority Mail, rather than the standard "snail mail".

Shipping
We ship all paid courses the next business day and all shipping is 2nd day delivery, so you will receive your textbook 3 - 4 business days following the order placement. If you place the order on Monday, you will receive the course on Friday at the latest. If you need overnight delivery, please make a note of that in your order registration form. Your shipping fee for the course you order will be doubled.
