Privacy and Other Policies

Order Fulfillment

  • Textbooks are shipped within 48 hrs of registration and payment. Acceptable payment for individual purchases is either by credit card or check. We accept Visa, MasterCard, or debit cards. All textbooks are shipped UPS 2 day delivery unless otherwise requested.

  • Corporate accounts may be established with specific pricing and payment options. In those cases, a corporate ID number is issued and must be used to receive the corporate price.

Homework Processing

Online

  • Homework is submitted online and results returned within 48 hours.

  • Students receive an email with the score and any incorrect answers listed in the email.

  • A certificate of completion is issued upon completion of the last quiz. A faxed copy is faxed to the student at the time of processing; certificates are mailed weekly for the previous week's completions.

Correspondence

  • Homework is submitted via fax and results returned within 48 hours.

  • Students receive a fax acknowledging receipt of homework, and upon completion of grading, a copy of graded work.

  • A certificate of completion is issued upon completion of the last quiz. A faxed copy is sent at the time of processing; certificates are mailed weekly for the previous week's completions.

Instructor Availability and Process to Set Up Appointment

Instructors are available for conferences, up to 3 hours per 15 credits. Appointments must be made by sending an email to: instructor@schoolofmortgagelending.com. If you are in an emergency situation, please email susanw@schoolofmortgagelending.com or call Susan at 800.724.8582.

Privacy Statement

All student contact information and transcripts are maintained in a secure corporate network and hard copies are in a secure filing environment. No records are kept on the Web Site. Transcripts and copies of certificates are provided at no cost to qualified educational institutions, regulatory agencies or employers. Copies of records may be requested by students and must be made in writing. No records are sold or provided to any other entity. The School of Mortgage Lending may utilize these records to provide updates or other information to its customer base.

Credit card information is kept in the physical file but not on the electronic network once payment has been processed.

Homework Grading

Grading follows the standards outlined below:

To calculate the numerical score:

Divide the number of correct answers by the total number of questions.

Example:  17 correct out of 20 questions

17 ¸ 20 = 85%

Numerical Scores:  90% to 100% =

Outstanding

80% to 89% =

Above Average

70% to 79% =

Satisfactory

Below 70%

Grade

Definition

Outstanding

Student has demonstrated a thorough understanding of the procedures and principles taught in this chapter and tested for in this assignment. Student has also demonstrated the ability to follow instructions.  All calculations are correct.

Above Average

Student has demonstrated a reasonable understanding of the procedures and principles taught in this chapter and tested for in this assignment. Student follows instructions most of the time.  Minor math errors.

Satisfactory

Student has demonstrated a basic understanding of the procedures and principles taught in this chapter and tested for in this assignment. Student missed some of the instructions, and made some math errors.

Unsatisfactory - Re-work and Re-submit

Student has not demonstrated a basic understanding of the procedures and principles taught in this chapter and tested for in this assignment. Many math errors, and evidence that student did not follow instructions.

Expired Students

Students are frequently given a 30-day extension when they are unable to meet the six-month deadline. If a student requests support after both the six-month period and 30-day extension has expired, a replacement text purchase of retail price, less a 20% discount, is required.

Replacement Certificates and Change of Records

The School of Mortgage Lending will replace any certificate up to two times for such reasons as non-receipt or lost certificate. After that, a fee of $50 applies. Please note that replacement certificates are issued only if the student originally paid for the course. In the case of students who move from one firm to another and require an additional certificate, authorization must come from the original company.

Change of address or change of student name is made at no charge. Change of student is allowed in only those cases where the company purchased the course and the student has not completed more than 33% of his/her coursework.

Shared Texts

Students may share a textbook and submit more than one set of homework for grading for a fee of $125 per course quiz set, and cannot be combined with any promotion.
