Proctored Examination Procedures

Some states require a proctored certificate, which means that the student must have his/her work observed and attested to by following the procedure outlined below.

These states must have proctored work submitted before we can issue a certificate that meets state requirements:

Georgia
Kansas
North Carolina
Ohio
South Carolina
West Virginia

Please follow the procedures below for issuance of a Proctored Certificate. Students must schedule the time and place of the examination at a resource that has online computer capability.

Acceptable resources include:

  1. Licensed librarian at a public or college library.
  2. Police officer at a police station.
  3. Clergyman
  4. Notary Public

Acceptable identification is listed below. For non-notarized statements, one piece of identification is required.

  1. State driver’s license
  2. State identification card
  3. Passport

The examinations are submitted online but no certificate will be issued until the School of Mortgage Lending receives this original form, completed and signed. The envelope must have the proctor signature across the seal.
