FAQ's: How Does This Work?

Can you describe how this works?

Certainly. At the time we receive your registration and payment, we ship your courses text within 48 hours to the address you specify on the registration form.

Each course is a manual and divided into a certain number of chapters just like a textbook. You read through each chapter and complete the homework at the end. We include the homework in your textbook and recommend that you complete it offline first, since you may need to look some things up.

Whenever you are ready, you go online to our Virtual Campus, and complete the homework. At the end of each course, you will receive a statement that indicates you have successfully completed the course. You can use this to provide to various state agencies for proof of course completion. We then mail you a beautiful certificate, suitable for framing.

How much time do I have to spend on the computer?

If you have all of your homework done ahead of time, and are just doing the data entry, we estimate it would take about 15-30 minutes total time on the computer.

How do I register and pay for the course?

You complete the registration form, which you can print out from the Web Site, and fax it in to us for processing of your credit card. We will have online credit card processing soon, by mid-April. If you prefer to pay by check, you can send in the registration and payment by U.S. Mail. We ship all courses UPS within 48 hours of receipt of payment.

What happens if I am not happy?

You will find our refund and cancellation policy on the Contacts page. We are confident you will find this material of the highest caliber, yet still priced very affordably.

Is this course approved in my state?

The majority of states do not require minimum professional education for a license; however, this is rapidly changing. We are approved in almost all states that do have educational requirements of mortgage brokers or bankers. You can find that list on the Courses at a Glance document.

Do you have other kinds of courses, like insurance or real estate?

We are very close to offering a series of real estate courses, and will begin the process of getting both the School and the courses approved in multiple states. Please check the site periodically to see what courses have been added. Our goal is to add other related financial services educational programs, thereby aiding our customers in accessing emerging opportunities.

Are these courses approved for credit hours?

How long will it take me to complete the course?

Each course has been assigned credits, which you will see in the Courses at a Glance table. The credits are based on the amount of time required to offer the course in classroom format, and is validated by the many years that we did classroom programs of all kinds. There is a "consolidation" factor in distance learning of about 35%. That is, you will get through the course in 65% of the time necessary to take the same course classroom style. It's just a much more efficient system.

Your background and commitment will also make a major difference. If you come from an industry where you understand the concepts of a credit decision, or are used to using documentation, you will grasp the concepts in well less than 30 hours.

The most important thing you can do is to study in an environment where you can concentrate, where you can really focus on the material. Get that highlighter out and go! This is one of the primary reasons we have continued the use of our textbook - it is a meaningful part of the learning process.

What is the content?

We have developed a complete system of training for residential lending professionals, people who originate, who process, or who approve the loans. At this time, the course work is exclusively residential. Just print out the course descriptions in Courses at a Glance and you can see the technical content for any course.

Can I call and ask questions?

Certainly. We encourage the students to call or e-mail with questions. The most efficient system is to send an e-mail if it's a simple question, or use email to set up a phone appointment for more involved assistance. You will receive all the contact names, numbers and addresses with your text.
